It’s one of the most common questions we get. And if you’re asking it, you’re already ahead of the curve. You’re planning thoughtfully and trying to make smart decisions. So let’s clear this up.

First, what does a venue coordinator actually do?

A venue coordinator works for the venue. Their job is to oversee what the venue is responsible for: access to the space, on-site staff, catering (if in-house), and keeping to the venue’s schedule.

They don’t manage your timeline. They won’t be in your inbox confirming vendors. They’re not calling your rental company or cueing your DJ or repacking your card box.

We manage everything that surrounds the venue and everything that happens before, during, and after your event. Our job is to build and run the full plan, connect all the moving parts, and make your day flow beautifully.

That includes the tough stuff no one warns you about: family dynamics, guest list tension, vendor hiccups, pre-wedding overwhelm. We’re not just planners. We’re your decision support system, your communication buffer, and the calm voice when things get tricky.

At Well-Dressed Events, we offer two full-service options:

The Full Edit
We lead the process from start to finish. We manage logistics, vendor communication, budget tracking, creative direction, and event-day production. You make the decisions, we make them easy.

The Select
You stay hands-on where you want to. We give you structure, tools, and support, then step in fully in the final stretch.

Still unsure? Ask yourself:

  • Who is managing vendors on the day of?
  • Who creates your full master timeline?
  • Who’s in charge of non-venue elements: shuttles, florals, rentals, decor, music?
  • Who helps you make decisions and keeps things moving pre-wedding?
