What “Full-Service” Really Means at Well-Dressed Events
At Well-Dressed Events, full-service planning means start-to-finish support. We’re your guide for everything: from venue selection and vendor recommendations to design support and family dynamics. We’re with you for every major decision (and plenty of the minor ones too).
We offer three full-service planning experiences tailored to how hands-on or hands-off you want to be:
- The Full Edit: Our concierge-level service. We handle research, outreach, communication. You just make the decisions.
- The Select: For couples who enjoy being part of the process. You do some research and outreach, and we’re your expert partner to keep you organized, strategic, and supported.
- The Capsule: Built for all-inclusive venues. We focus on vendor management and setup logistics while your venue staff runs the reception. A lighter, more cost-effective option.
What’s Typically Included (and What Makes Us Different)
Most planners limit how and when you can contact them. We don’t. Our clients get access to us via Voxer, a voice and text message app, so they can reach out in real time whenever ideas or questions pop up. It’s fast, efficient, and it keeps the process moving.
We also offer a la carte add-ons like extra planning months and additional calls, but all of that is mapped out from the beginning so you can plan accordingly.
Pricing Overview: What It Really Costs in NJ
In New Jersey, full-service planning typically starts around $10,000 and can go up to $30,000 or more depending on the scope and complexity. Some planners charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, which can vary widely.
We’re a flat-rate firm. Our clients know exactly what they’ll pay from the start. That predictability is intentional and part of the luxury experience.
Our clients usually spend 12–15% of their total budget on planning. It’s important to note: our planning fee is not part of your overall budget. If your wedding budget is $200,000, with planning, your actual spend is likely to be $207,000 to $217,750.
What Affects Cost
Factors that affect planning cost include:
- Length of the planning timeline
- Number of planning calls or meetings
- How much of the logistics and vendor coordination we’re handling
- Location of your wedding
All of this is built into our package structure.
Real Value: What You Get (and What You Might Not Expect)
Beyond logistics, one of the biggest values we offer is saving clients money through our vendor network. We often connect clients with newer, boutique vendors who are just as talented as the big names but offer better pricing while they build their portfolios.
We also work hard to debunk myths around wedding pricing. No, vendors aren’t jacking up prices just because it’s a wedding. And yes, tipping matters: especially for small businesses where the owner might not even be taking a salary (hi, it’s us). Your tip often is their paycheck.
Our Advice If You’re Not Sure You Can Afford Full-Service
Start by looking at your priorities. If you’re working with a $100k+ budget, this is a production and it needs a professional. We offer flexible packages so you can get the support you need without overcommitting.
Not sure what you need? Just ask. If you don’t need 10 planning calls, say that. You can always add more later. Most quality vendors are open to customizing as long as you’re respectful and realistic.
TL;DR: Planning Is an Investment
Hiring a planner early is a cost that saves you money, time, and energy later. With Well-Dressed Events, you’re not just paying for a to-do list, you’re investing in a perfect wedding from day one. Inquire today!
