Romantic weddings might be our favorite of them all. To us, romantic weddings are made up of soft colors, abundant and lush florals, a shit ton of candles, and luxe textures. And since we’re all about the details, our romantic weddings are usually also accented with gorgeous calligraphy and thoughtful stationary! To do romantic the right way, you need to start with the right venue. The surroundings and setting are just as important to the overall vibe as the decor we bring in.
If you’re new around here, we’re Well-Dressed Events, New Jersey’s premier stylecentric wedding, party and event planning company. We specialize in high-end, unique events for modern, bold, standout clients and we pride ourselves on cutting-edge, creative design, styling and event management. Below are our top 5 favorite romantic wedding venues in NJ and the reasons why we love them!
Battello
Located in Jersey City, NJ, Battello is hands down one of our favorite wedding venues for a romantic wedding in New Jersey. While it has an industrial feel with it’s exposed beams and brick walls, it is still very elegant with its bright and airy features. Every detail of this venue was thoughtfully designed and lends itself well to the romantic wedding style. The floor to ceiling windows with views of the NYC skyline add a layer of romance you can only get in Hudson County. All the space needs is glowy candlelight and the right florals and you’re set! The venue is primarily a restaurant, so the food, drink and service are great. We like to recommend this venue to our more non-traditional romantic couples. It’s great for weddings up to 200 guests.

Hudson House
Another Jersey City venue, Hudson House boasts the same amazing views of NYC with floor to ceiling windows. It’s got a more contemporary flair with a mostly black and white palette and artsy chandeliers, which will allow your decor and the view to shine. The grand ballroom also fits over 300 people, making it an amazing option for larger weddings. Since this venue is primarily a wedding and events venue, it has a lot of flexibility in terms of ceremony spaces and offers a bridal suite on site. If you have a larger guest count and want an urban romantic wedding, then Hudson House is definitely the spot for you.

Indian Trail Club
Indian Trail Club has been one of our favorite venues since we started Well-Dressed Events. The ballroom is certainly one of the most romantic in NJ! The venue boasts lake views which offers a killer sunset, and huge doors that open out to a sprawling patio. It is one of the only more traditional ballroom receptions in New Jersey that also offers an al fresco vibe. The chandeliers and stone fireplaces add charm while the full bar with beers on draught is always a fan-favorite. The venue staff is super helpful and flexible, and it’s a great getting ready location as they allow you to take over the entire tavern space for hair and makeup. The bridal suite is gorgeous and a great home base for the bridal party throughout the day (it also has cubbies for the bridal party to put their things which like, come on…best idea EVER).

Bonnet Island Estate
A ceremony space really doesn’t get more romantic than the chapel at Bonnet Island Estate on Long Beach Island, NJ. Pair that with the bay views and gorgeous grounds and you truly don’t even feel like you are in New Jersey. We love the cocktail hour veranda and the unique ballroom with 30-foot cathedral ceilings. Of course the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water are one of our favorite features (are you noticing a trend yet?!). You can fit about 250 people in the ballroom and there are 12 private suites for you and your bridal party to stay on property. Weddings of Distinction manages the venue, and they also own a similar romantic-style venue on LBI, Mallard Island Yacht Club and The Ashford Estate which is a more southern-chic venue in Allentown, NJ.

Park Chateau
It wouldn’t be a romantic NJ wedding venue roundup without Park Chateau making the list. Located in East Brunswick, Park Chateau is definitely one of the most traditionally romantic venues in the state of NJ. It’s in a convenient location for NJ couples with family and friends across the tri-state area, as it’s right in the center of NYC and Philly. Park Chateau offers a grand foyer with one of the most beautiful staircases we’ve seen (and florists just LOVE to dress it up!). The ballroom with tasteful chandeliers has enough room for 350 guests with a massive dance floor. The entire property gives French countryside vibes, and the ceremony chapel is literally to die for.
There’s also a hotel on property, The Chateau Grande, which has a comfy and sizable bridal suite for getting ready. The bar and restaurant run by David Burke is gorgeous and a perfect location for a rehearsal dinner or after party. The Chateau Grande also has a ballroom space for weddings and events, though its capacity is smaller than Park Chateau.

To put a bow on it…
There are no shortage of romantic wedding venues in New Jersey, we could probably list about ten more (heck, we snuck in 3 more to this list anyway!). While everyone has a different version of romance, we think starting with an airy space with lots of natural light and scenic views is the way to go. We feel strongly that your wedding starts long before guests enter the ballroom, so look for venues that offer the romantic experience from the moment guests step on property.
